The Palacios family are way in the hinterland of Chile raising horses and grapes. They use dry-land farming and the reds, in particular, show super intensity of color and fruit. The Merlot is a deep ruby with aromas of plum and spices followed by a rich middle backed by firm structure. It's great for barbecues.
