Chateau Castera is in the north of the Médoc and borders St Estephe and Pauillac. The vineyards are gravel over a clay base and are composed of 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 45% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Franc and 3% Petit Verdot with an average age of 25 years. The wine opens with deep red color followed by aromas of ripe red fruits and cassis carried by a trace of new oak. The medium body and rich middle are just right for a steak.
