A crisp, refreshing, white Bordeaux; La Maroutine is 80% Sauvignon Blanc and 20% Sémillon. The estate is near Cadillac southeast of the city and is owned by the Darriet family. The wine shows a lot of grapefruit in the nose and on the palate but the Semillon adds some weight to the middle and roundness in the finish. It's a good match for grilled fish and shellfish.
